Real Food

I think I first heard about 'Real Food - Cafe, Grocer, Books' in a vegetarian group meet up list. Since then, I have been wanting to visit the place. On saturday, I finally did. Located in the basement of Central Mall at Clarke Quay, it took some searching amongst the different outlets before we could locate it.

Orders were quickly placed. While waiting for the food to arrive, we looked around the place. Within the restaurant, they have a huge bookshelf with many books amongst which, some were about healthy eating and living. Its the kind of a place where you can pick up a book to give you some company while you eat your meal.

Oh, they also have magazines if that is more of what you would rather read over a meal :P

Brushcetta with grilled Zucchini and Pesto

Spinach tomato spaghetti

Blueberries and Banana French toast

The food was very tasty. The bread was perfectly toasted. The pasta was cooked perfect. And the crumbles of feta cheese over the pasta -Yum! The French toast didn't have an eggy taste either. I think maybe it was the banana which masked the eggy flavour.

I will definitely be coming back for more. There were so many interesting items that I want to try out. Only vegetarians will understand how relieving it can be to visit a restaurant (in a meat loving country) and be able to order anything on the menu!

Oh, cost wise I felt it was quite reasonable. For the items the two of us had ordered (and some coffee), we paid about 35 bucks.

They also have lots of organic products on sale. Do check them out!
