well I agree upto a certain point.
There are plenty of good cuisines other than the usual indian food.

And, when one goes traveling to new places, its best to try their food. However, no matter how much time I stay in singapore, I am not having sushi. Or any fish for that matter. If they have other delicacies I may give it a try.

But hey, we have the right to complain on one thing, the food outside india, no matter how unique and different it may be, its damn bland.

For an indian thats like...sacrilege. Certain spiciness is a must.
The only reason indians carry truckloads of food abroad.. food is too bland abroad, most of the time atleast.

We like it hot and spicy.
Besides, nothing.. absolutely nothing, can outrank the paneer tikka.

totally true.. ive see that often with ppl here.. with veggie and non-veggie ppl here
in india non-veg means eating chicken once a week.. but in US eating non-veg means eating chicken,beef,bacon,or lamb etc for all the meals...
and veggie ppl have a feeling that everything is cooked in the same utensils as beef is cooked!!! .. well i would say it is better than human bio taste makers added in indian restaurants.. (doesn't mean they aren't there in US)

Hah! Squid and Baingan Bharta ??? I am trying to imagine the face of a hardcore vegetarian after he/she eats it by mistake :))

I can understand that, but not all non-Indian food is bland. Take mexican for example. Can make it as spicy as it gets. But then who are we to judge. Its a personal choice after all. From now on have decided to adopt a live and let live policy.

@pilli:
Whoa! You still read blogs? Nice to see you here :)

n india non-veg means eating chicken once a week
Haa Haa.. That was funny :D Although, I can relate to it as that was what I had thought when I was in college. Btw, not all veggie people feel that was about veg food being cooked in the same utensils as non-veg.
